Intelligence Service Team - Senior Associate (12-month Fixed Term Contract)


Salary:
London ranging from £53,500 - £55,000 per annum


Enforcement & Market Oversight (EMO) is responsible for the FCA's primary market functions including monitoring markets, investigation and prosecution of misconduct, pursuing and remedying misconduct using the whole spectrum of criminal, civil and administrative sanctions and remedies against firms and individuals.

EMO - Intelligence


The Intelligence Department sits within EMO however it is a central function to the entire FCA, providing an important service to many areas as well as being embedded in many of the organisation's processes; with accuracy, timeliness, and relevance at the heart of what we deliver.


We provide intelligence support to enable the organisation to discharge its regulatory and criminal responsibilities, which includes working with Authorisation, Supervision and Listing Transactions.

We provide accurate and meaningful information to aid their decision making and respond in a timely way to requests for them to meet their Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and Statutory Deadlines.


We work to national law enforcement standards in intelligence handling and conduct internal and external research and engage with varied, domestic, and international partners to facilitate the best "all source" information to support this work.

It is important we provide the highest quality intelligence products, which are shared appropriately (in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and our Financial Services and Markets Act (FSMA) gateways) and with due consideration of the wider value within the content.

We seek to improve our delivery and focus our outputs in line with the Transformation strategy and best use of data/information held by the organisation.


What you will be doing (the role)- Managing the tactical delivery of intelligence to internal and external stakeholders (escalating and referring cases on differing topics or complexity).

Including the appropriate handling and dissemination of sensitive intelligence within these processes- Researching, preparing, and disseminating intelligence products for internal areas such as Authorisation, Supervision (including Crypto, Payment Services and the future regulation of Funeral Plans) and Listing Transactions as well as a variety of external partners Building and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues in other business areas within the FCA and with external stakeholders- Being an ambassador and active participant on behalf of Intelligence, EMO and the FCA in forums internally and externally that extend and improve mutual sharing- Deputising for the Team Leader or Manager as necessary- Training and coaching/mentoring new staff when required, and being seen as a strong and flexible "go to person" for support- Attend and contribute to knowledge sharing events and identify opportunities for knowledge sharing and lessons learned
