    Job summary

    Parkside Surgery is looking for 3 new team members to join the practice team. If you like working in a friendly, supportive but very busy environment then we may be the place for you.

    Previous experience in general practice is desirable but excellent customer service experience is essential. You must be able to work under pressure, meet service demands but remain calm and polite at all times.

    The hours of work are:

    Post 1 - Monday - Friday 8am to 1pm (25 hours per week)

    Post 2 - Monday to Friday to (30 hours per week)

    Post 3 -Wednesday to Friday 8am to (27 hours per week)

    Overtime may also be available.

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will be responsible for:

    Greeting patients, attending to their requests forappointments, prescriptions, and dealing with other queries, using the computer

    Dealing with telephone calls, redirecting them asappropriate

    Action tasks in line with practice protocol

    Recording information onto the computer

    Scanning and coding information from letters intopatient records

    Recording requests for repeat prescriptions bypatients

    Maintaining compliance with all Practice policiesand procedure, available in hard copy or electronic copy and ensuring awarenessof where to find them.

    Maintaining flexibility to assist in holiday andsickness cover

    Any administrative tasks as required

    Chaperone patients (when required and with theappropriate training)

    Processing prescription requests using EPS2/FP10s

    The post holder will provide a comprehensive and efficient reception andadministration service to the Practice to enable it to run effectively. Theability to work under pressure and provide a high quality service is essential.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Good standard of education, GSCE English grade C or above
  • Customer Service/Receptionist experience ideally in a medical setting.
  • Good IT/keyboard skills
  • Desirable
