Want to be the fountain of all knowledge at Factory International? The Market Research and Audience Insight Manager is a crucial role and will work with the Director of Audiences and Head of Marketing and Audiences to help deliver our ambitions and objectives.

This role will require innovative approaches to data collection, embedding our new audience segments into our box office system, analysing movement across the segments and recording and monitoring shifts in loyalty and value over time.


The post will need to build audience intelligence and behavioural insights across all our segments and audiences to inform strategy and tactics.

It will manage the market research and visitor surveys for all our work, leading on evaluations ensuring learningsgo back into the audiences team.

We want to listen to our audiences, this will involve working with focus groups as well as evaluating our front of house service to make sure we are audience focused in everything we deliver.


The role will also be required to disseminate research and share with high level stakeholders internally and to bring audiences closer to the heart of decision-making.


Key responsibilities for the Marketing Research and Audience Insight Manager are:

  • Manage qualitative and quantitative research for Factory International to ensure we are listening to our audiences and interrogating their needs and barriers to entry
  • Oversee the schedule of continuous research specifically our rolling annual visitor survey as part of Arts Council reporting and Culture Counts, ALVA visitor experience research, as well as annual membership and Young Factory scheme research
  • To lead, manage and design Factory International's market research needs, working with internal stakeholders to clarify their research needs, write research briefs and manage ad hoc research requirements
  • Establish, manage and maintain strong working relationship with external suppliers and other external research agencies
  • To become an expert on Factory International's current and potential audiences shaped by evidence about who they are, what they do, think and need using clear language that is understood by all areas of the organisation
  • Analyse and interpret data from multiple sources, delivering strategic market and audience insights, put forward recommendations for action and input into the strategic direction of Factory International

The person spec for the Marketing Research and Audience Insight Manager includes:

ESSENTIAL

  • A proven track record of using box office data, research data and insight to inform strategy and decision making together with the skills to analyse and interpret this data and extract relevant insight
  • You will have a very strong background in quantitative surveys, but also ideally experience in qualitative research and online communities
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills. Ability to analyse and interpret data, extract relevant insight and communicate clearly
  • Strong numerical skills including statistical analysis
  • Ability to take and write a clear brief, as well as being able to effectively summarise research output
  • A confident presenter with experience of influencing others through strong written and verbal communication skill
  • Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds
