OBJECTIVE:
-
To supervise all aspects of the clients security requirements and take responsibility for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the client's security function.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
- Assist in the management of the security contract at the client's premises
- Control, monitor and instruct the Security Officers in procedures, including but not restricted to Assignment Instructions; Reception Duties; Health & Safety and any client instructions
- Ensure Assignment Instructions are adhered to at all times by security personnel
- Ensure that all security personnel follow the correct dress code
- Forward security documentation to the Security Manager
- Provide information for and in accordance with company disciplinary procedures
- Ensure all staff are trained to the client's and the company's standards
- Develop teamwork within the workforce, ensuring high morale through effective motivational methods and ongoing training
- Provide line management responsibility to Security Officers, including welfare issues under the guidance of the Security Manager and Human Resources
- Review Security Officer performance and development and report to the Security Manager
- Maintain a high standard of communication and good working relationship with all other Security Officers
- To Fill in for the Security Manager when not on Site due to Annual Leave, Training etc
- To ensure each Shift Handover is completed fully, sent out and completed in full with all checks done and messages included.
ADDITIONAL SITE DUTIES:

- Investigations of thefts, complaints and incidents
- To record and report all incidents
- To record and report all accidents
- To keep security records and logs up to date
- Allocation of site duties to Security Officers (Rotation, Breaks Etc)
- Admin duties to include: key audits, fire alarm tests, equipment status logs and card audits
- To act as incident controller if SM or BM not on site in the event of a full evacuation
- To monitor and train staff, on the clients security systems (CCTV, access control, fire alarms and intruder alarms).
- To deal with staff and visitors enquiries and requests
- Additional adhoc administration duties and any reasonable requests from the client in relation to the overall Facilities department role.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications:
-
- Security personnel must have the basic job training qualification or equivalent experience.
- Must hold a valid SIA licence, DS Preferred
- Carry and be capable or using all security equipment necessary to efficiently perform the duties required of a professional Security Supervisor
Training:
-
- If not already achieved officers must sit the four day basic job training qualification
- Officers must undergo onsite training, 2 dayshifts and 2 nightshifts
- Aptitudes and attitudes:
Post holder must be able to demonstrate:- Good literacy and communication skills and have excellent verbal and written English
- Possess a good telephone manner
- Be computer literate
- Report writing skills

- Reliability, selfmotivation and ability to use own initiative and work without supervision
- The ability, tact and diplomacy to deal with people including the client, the clients staff and visitors, in all circumstances including emergencies and other times of stress
- Selfconfidence and an interest in selfdevelopment
- A level of physical fitness to enable the post holder to stand in the reception upto 1 hr to 1.5hrs at a time, to perform patrol and emergency response duties efficiently and effectively
