Built upon three sectors - Pressings, Assembly and Fabrication, the trading business has been around since 1956 originally making press tools as a division of Vickers Armstrong.

In 1987 the business moved from its location in Elswick to a purpose-built factory with 100,000sq ft on Scotswood Road, Newcastle where we remain today.

Role Overview


The main role of the paint powder coater is to ensure that paint powder is applied to parts such that production targets are met and paint coverage and quality achieves customer requirements.

As part of the role it is expected that the powder coater will carry out other duties within their capability in the paint shop and/or other areas of the factory.


Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing equipment (booths, ovens & guns)
  • Painting to customer Quality Standards
  • Preparing Colour changes through the process as and when needed
  • Product preparation
  • Adherence to PPE requirements
  • Adherence to Health & Safety provisions
  • Line loading and off loading
  • Support the Supervisor / Team Leader in driving continuous improvement initiatives in the bay
  • Attend and contribute to morning briefs as required
  • Undertake alternative valueadded activities for periods of nonproductive work
  • Ensure the area meets and exceed the company standards on 5s
  • Deal with any issues as they arise and seek immediate advice from the Supervision / Team Leader when necessary
  • Ensure all aspects of company policy and procedure are fully adhered

Qualifications / Skillsets

  • Some technical experience and a can do/will do attitude.
  • Must have the ability to follow the quality process and Standard Operating Procedure for a given process.
