    Job Description

This is a hybrid role and you'll be working from the office at least 2-3 days per week.

You will be required to support 24 x 7 callout cover

Our goal at CityFibre is to unlock the digital potential of Britain by creating a broadband network that works seamlessly for everyone, every day. Powerful, gigabit-speed connections that enable people across entire communities to enjoy life in full flow. To do this, we make sure that our people's voices are heard, their ideas are welcomed, and everyone is given the opportunity to make a real impact.

Help lead our Software Development team to success

We're looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who can help us design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable, reliable services. As an SRE you will work within our Platform team to build and run the core components that power the CityFibre ecosystem.

Day to day, this is some of what you can expect to be doing:

  • Implement and enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability systems to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact users.
  • Actively improve reliability, quality and scalability of our systems through the use of automation.
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis to identity post incident improvements to prevent similar issues occurring again.
  • Ensure services are kept update by running upgrades on AWS services such as MSK, RDS.
  • What you'll bring to the role

We believe every engineering team should be responsible for the software they build, and SREs play a critical part in providing the tools, practices, and expertise to make that happen. You'll bring experience in:

  • Cloud usage, preferably AWS
  • Event Driven Architecture
  • Infrastructure as code
  • Observability tooling
  • PHP or Python experience
  • We're looking for people who don't settle for 'good enough' and push things forward. If you've just found yourself thinking, 'I'd love to do this', we want to hear from you. Let's change it up.

What you can expect from us

With a competitive salary depending on experience, when you join us, you'll also enjoy 25 days' holiday, a day off on your birthday, a day off to support a charity or organisation of your choice, a performance-related bonus scheme, and private healthcare.

    Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging

CityFibre is working hard to change up the telecoms industry. This means we're committed to providing equal opportunities to people from all backgrounds and commitments, including your carer and family status, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, gender and gender identity.
