    As the appointed Staff Platform Engineer, you should specialise in Release Engineering and raise the bar in terms of standards.

    Staff Platform Engineer

    You will join a growing team headed by an incredible Director of DevOps who provides autonomy, support, and also direction. You will thrive in this bar-raising environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the design and management of the software release process and tooling
    • Develop and maintain automation pipelines for software deployment, ensuring rapid and reliable releases.
    • Create comprehensive release documentation, guidelines, and best practices to guide development and operations teams.
    • Monitor release performance and identify bottlenecks in the deployment process.
    • Collaborate with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between release activities and business goals.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers on release management best practices and procedures.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • Extensive experience as a platform engineer ideally with a focus on build and release management.
    • Experience in designing and building automation pipelines for software deployment.
    • Strong knowledge of software release methodologies, GitOps, CI/CD practices, and infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible).
    • Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms (GCP, AWS)
