    Job Description Process Automation Engineer - Job Summary:

    We're supporting our client, a leading manufacturer based in Hereford, who are looking for a Process Automation Engineer to join their growing team.

    The successful Process Automation Engineer will support production and NPI to implement and install robotic and process improvement solutions to improve efficiencies.

    Responsibilities for Process Automation Engineer:

    for identifying ways to reduce the requirement for labour in the production environment through innovation and development and keeping abreast of industry advancements in technology.

    with clients about project requirements.
    ongoing support for automation systems, addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime.

    the design, specification and manufacture of process, assembly, and test equipment for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones.

    evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilising knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

    with Operations Team and NPI regarding product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
    comprehensive documentation for automation systems, including manuals and process work instructions.

    with suppliers to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials and parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.

    training sessions for technical staff on the proper use and maintenance of automated equipment.
    with the NPI team to provide automation support to support trials for NPI and EC.
    for ensuring that all NPI and EC is production ready and fully optimised, using automation where possible.

    for developing setting sheets for all new NPI and EC where required to ensure all production processes are fully optimised to reduce cycle times and to minimise scrap.

    and maintain process engineering area, ensuring that all automation equipment is catalogued and easy to allocate and access to jobs using WinMan.

    of a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar field
    experience in automation engineering, specifically within plastic injection moulding or similar manufacturing environments.
    with project management
    understanding of part manipulation through bowl feeder technology
    in maintaining automation equipment
    understanding of computer programming and software development
    of creating jigs and fixtures to improve production efficiencies.
    written and verbal communications skills, fluent in English.
