    DeputyChildren s Home Manager

    Salary from: 29890 to 33000 per annum ( on call rotaallowance) Dependent Upon Experience

    Full time permanentcontract

    40 hours perweek

    JobRole:

    As a Deputy manager youll be based within the home to support the staff team and youngpeople in the provision of a stable structured and therapeuticenvironment. You will work closely with the manager and staff teamto ensure that they work closely with the children and young peoplewho live there by being nurturing listening and encouraging. Youwill take the lead on shift to ensure that the values oforganisation are embodied ensuring the effective implementation ofcare plans and personcentred care as well as taking a lead role indeveloping and updating the key documents whilst role modelling andsupporting colleagues. It is essential that you are a supportivedriven person who displays patience kindness and leadership skillsthat enable you to role model a passion for empowering young peopleto achieve their full potential. You will be expected to work amixture of earlies and lates as agreed with the home manageramounting to 2/3 lates per week and one weekend day per calendarmonth. Expectations to support in covering shortfalls alongside thehome manager.

    Main Duties &Responsibilities

    • Share and embody the companyethos and values at all times in yourpractice
    • To fully understand contribute to and implement thehomes Statement of Purpose
    • Supportthe manager in practices that promote the individuals care plans.These should reflect their wishes and changing needs includingcommunication and independence skills
    • To provide childfocused practices such as activities shopping meal preparationcleaning laundry and personal care tasks: bathing cuttingfingernails using the toilet
    • To support the service users in anappropriate professional manner in all aspects of their lives bethis personally emotionally physically socially or vocationally
    • Tosupport people to maintain relationships with their family andfriends
    • To understand and respect things which are important toservice users and colleaugues
    • To encourage service users to make choicesand decisions for themselves and support them to do new things in away that keeps them safe but does not allow concerns about safetyto stop them doing the things they want to do
    • To be flexible inyour approach and work for the benefit of the service users andcolleagues
    • To work sleep shifts or waking nights if required to doso

    Key Attributes:

    • Be a good role model for the staff team atall times
    • Ensure the staff team are supported mentored andreceive the highest quality of supervision and coaching whereappropriate
    • Undertake all duties of your role with due diligenceand pride
    • Be responsible and accountable for the young people ssafety and wellbeing at all times; ensuring that their bestinterests are promoted at all times
    • Assist withsupervisions
    • Take responsibility for ensuring that all identifiedtasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner

    Safeguarding:

    • To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the servicesusers is promoted at all times
    • Nurture a positive culture of safeguardingprocesses and practices ensuring that you keep up to date with anychanges and updated guidance as directed by line managers
    • Followall instructions and/ or actions identified in care plans and riskassessments
    • To report any worries or concerns to your line managerin a prompt timescale
    • Follow statutory and company guidance onwhistleblowing and complaints/ grievance procedures
    • Be responsible andaccountable for ensuring that all staff adhere to all safeguardingpractices

    This role is subject to the successfulapplicant having an enhanced DBS check for child and adultworkforce with barred list checks.

    Requirements

    • Full drivinglicense

    • NVQ Level 3 in ResidentialChildcare

    • Desirable NVQ Level 5 in Leadership &Management

    • Experience of being a Childrens Residential SupportWorker or senior post holder seeking careeradvancement

    • Desirable experience in supervising aTeam

    What you need Youwill need to be a caring, resilient, and adaptable team player. Itis important that you are a positive and motivated individual.These are bank roles offered on a Casual Worker's Agreement, forpeople who have a passion to make a difference. All training willbe provided and we are proud to offer an induction programme toenable you to settle into the role. Previous experience within asupport work role with children, young people & families wouldbe advantageous, along with NVQ Level 2 or 3 in ResidentialChildcare qualification. However, this is not essential entrycriteria for this role. Driving licence and access to a reliablevehicle is required.
