PPL is the UKs music licensing company for over 130,000 performers and recording rightsholders.


Overview:


You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience as you complete a Data Essentials - Level 3 Apprenticeship.


Salary:
£20,000 per annum.


What you'll be doing:


As our International Data coordinator, you will ensure that the data PPL holds or receives from other CMOs relating to airplay data, performer line-up data and rights data is as accurate and complete as proportionately possible, in order to maximise PPL's abilityto claim international revenue and to support the exchange of high-quality data between CMOs.


Key Responsibilities will include:


1)Gaining and maintaining a thorough understanding of the International Operations process and service

2) Performing quality assurance work to check the accuracy or completeness of repertoire and usage data received or processed as directed by the International Repertoire QA Manager:

  • Completion of QA processes to ensure airplay matching has completed as expected and is accurate.
  • Completion of QA processes to ensure repertoire relating to Key Artists has been completed as expected and is accurate.
  • Completion of QA processes to ensure data loaded through claims from other CMOs and VRDB has been completed as expected and is accurate.

3)Performing manual intervention and maintenance duties as allocated by International Repertoire QA

  • Manager in accordance with department processes, guidelines and deadlines to add, correct and enrich prioritised data for all International and Business Services repertoire and member data.

This includes the following for PPL and VPL:

  • Repertoire registrations and updates Performer Matching Performer Line-Up research and completion Performer claims processing (from VRDB and other CMOs) IPD Repertoire Declarations Other relevant repertoire and member data projects

4)Supporting the team with the:


  • Transformation of incoming datasets into standardized and workable formats; Validation and where appropriate
  • Correction of file and data
  • Accuracy and quality deficiencies Delivery of CMO required reporting on matched CMO data to International to agreed deadlines

5)Loading of airplay data into the Usage and Matching system for processing

  • Formatting outgoing data sets into agreed data exchange formats

6)Validating all outgoing datasets to ensure they meet agreed quality and accuracy standards

7) Identifying and escalating issues that will impact on service delivery or quality in a timely manner

8)Providing accurate, professional and timely responses to all communications and queries from internal and external customers

9)Providing support to any departmental or inter-departmental initiatives, building positive relationships throughout the company


Desirable skills / Personal Qualities:


  • Interest in music

  • Is competent in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Word, Excel and Outlook

Entry requirements:


  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

There is potentially a full time role available once the apprenticeship has been completed successfully.

QA's apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.

To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
