The Role

Underwriters are at the heart of our business as they allow us to grow our portfolio whilst keeping bad debt within appetite.

Performing credit reviews on our back book customers to determine whether their credit decisions are still valid
Helping to facilitate change in underwriting strategy and structure to improve processes and efficiency
Interacting with other internal teams to review all enquiries and provide credit decisions
Facilitating Risk initiatives and pilots by reviewing credit data and making decisions within company appetite
Conducting periodic reviews of individual bad debts to assist in risk, fraud and collections performance reviews
Assisting in internal reviews and external audits

What do we require?

2+ years' underwriting experience with a minimum of 12 months' mandate (secured or unsecured)
A broad understanding of how businesses operate, financial statements and credit files
Ability to demonstrate best practises in Responsible Lending putting the customer first and protecting the business against bad debt through inaccurate lending decisions
An ability to work autonomously
An ability to use an analytical approach to problemsolving
