Main duties of the job


The main purpose of this role is to assist the management team to deliver proactive, timely and comprehensive data collation to support good quality patient care.


To work as an effective member of the Data Quality Team to ensure that the practice is constantly striving to improve data quality and performance.

The practice is open Monday to Friday from and is usually closed on weekends and bank holidays.


Job description

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Data Quality Assistant.

There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.


The Data Quality Assistant is responsible for:
Running clinical system searches on request from any members of the practice team

Assisting with the identification of patients for Long Term Conditions recall through clinical system searches

Reporting back to the Operations Manager where there are data inaccuracies/omissions

Ensuring that appropriate correspondence, reports, results etc are recorded, actioned and stored in accordance with practice protocol and the Data Protection Act

Assisting with the extraction of data from the clinical system for submission to payment agencies

Assisting with the manual input of data on to CQRS as necessary

Assisting with the reconciliation of CQRS data extracts with clinical system outputs

Assisting with data entry on to PharmOutcomes or any other portal as required

Maintaining awareness and optimisation of the use of data quality tools such as Ardens

Assisting with ensuring that the practices clinical system is kept up to date and that searches/templates are used to support achievement of quality data

Assisting with the running of Ardens case finder reports in clinical system to improve data quality and therefore patient care

Assisting with the smooth running of the annual vaccination clinics to ensure that all vaccinations administered are claimed for in line with service specifications

Actively encouraging and promoting the use of patient online services

Assisting with data entry, read coding and workflow procedures as required

Assisting the Operations Managers to validate patient information, performing regular checks and quality audits

Contributing to the practice induction programme in the provision of support and training ensuring that data quality guidelines are understood and adhered to

Assisting with new patient registration procedures

Assisting with clinical system registration links procedures

Ensuring that residential codes are entered on correctly on the clinical system to ensure that the practice is funded appropriately

Assisting with the effective implementation of GP2GP policies and procedures

Assisting with data entry/recording on the practices TeamNet portal

Completing all mandatory training, having read, and understood, mandatory practice policies
