    OurPACU currently serves 8 theatres and also serves as an area for extendedrecovery of patients awaiting transfer to our critical care area.

    Youwill be part of a department that is currently reviewing all areas of practiceas part of an overall improvement initiative.

    ThePost Anaesthetic Care Unit comprises of 8 bays and enhances the quality of careprovided within the Theatre environment. We also have a dedicated and forwardthinking team of clinical educators supporting and training our workforce aswell as close links with the local universities.

    Main duties of the job

    Asa Registered Nurse you will be responsible for supporting your departmentalteam in ensuring that our service users needs are met through the delivery ofhigh-quality care. As a centre of excellence, you will offer a person-centredapproach to their independence and well-being.

    Youwill display pride in your work and your workplace.

    Maintain a high standard of clinical work when carrying outnursing procedures.

    Responsible for the safe custody of medication, includingchecking and administration.

    Ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework,you will motivate colleagues, champion service user safety and dignity anddrive continuous improvement.

    Assist the senior nursing team in diriving forward qualityimprovements within the PACU suite

    Develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledgenecessary to provide holistic, evidence based nursing care, following PREP/CPDrequirements.

    Participate in the monitoring and maintenance of standardsin accordance with the Clinic policies and procedures, as well as maintaincustody and checking of controlled drugs daily.

    Communicate effectively and responsibly at all times withcolleagues within the multi-disciplinary setting.

    Maintain accurate and legible written and electronicrecords of care, ensuring that the safety, privacy and dignity of the patientis maintained at all times.
