Gi Group Scarborough are recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manager. This role is based with one of our well-respected client based near Malton.
Responsibilities:
- To work in partnership with Customer Management to achieve targets
- Ensure that all employees work in a safe and responsible manner and
- Conducting Risk Assessments
- Inducting the team in routine health and safety training such as:
- Carrying out PPE audits of the team
- Focus on maintaining plant efficiency within the allocated budget
- Be proactive in seeking ways to improve plant performance
- Motivate and lead the engineering team to achieve their targets
- Ensure that all employees are aware that the priority is to keep the plant
- Any extra work including special projects must be delegated to others and must
- The Co-Ordinator must be available for on site meetings with Management and
- Monitor the time and attendance of all Employees
- Meet on a fortnightly basis with Management and provide a regular
- Ensure that timesheets are filled in correctly and sign them off with the
- Program & issue work orders for ppm/other work to the team
- Prioritise 'other work' taking in to account manufacturing priorities and PM
- Maintenance support, data entry, updating equipment records, producing
- Produce back log of planned work scheduled and not completed and reasons
- Manage co ordination between Operations & Maintenance functions
- Challenge systems, processes and procedures to drive change within the
- Participate in Site Management initiatives, for example, but not limited to, TPM
- Provide cover to the Process Maintenance Technicians as required
- Hands on with Technicians to organise, prioritise, advise
Person Specification:
- Trades qualification
- Electrical and relevant engineering experience in a
- Experience with modern maintenance management methods and techniques
- Experienced in managing a maintenance team of not less than 5 personnel.
motivating, influencing, coaching the team on day to day technical and
operations matters. Proven ability to deal with employee relations / disciplinary
matters within the team
- High speed/High Volume background. Ideally experience in Food/Beverage
- Multiskilled / crossskilled ethos
- Aptitude for process awareness, PLC control equipment and diagnostic /
- Good team player that can use their initiative and communicate well with
- Responsible and positive person who embraces change and takes ownership for
- Computer skills essential
