    As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Fastmarkets, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, nurturing, and converting new business opportunities.

    Your primary responsibilities will include generating and qualifying leads, building relationships with potential clients, and working closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure the continued growth of our customer base. The role of Business Development Representative is a crucial role to the acceleration of the Fastmarkets growth, the right candidate will be experienced in delivering significant growth through new business opportunity generation. They will be prepared to work purely through outbound prospecting without relying on an account book to generate opportunity within their territory. Experience within the PRA or commodities markets would be welcomed.

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Conduct market research to identify potential customers and industries.
    • Generate high-quality leads through various channels, including cold calling, email campaigns, and social media.
    • Qualify leads to assess their fit with our products or services.
    • Outreach to prospects via high volume of emails, phone calls, and over social media channels such as Linkedin.
    • Engage with prospective customers to understand their needs and challenges.
    • Effectively communicate the value proposition of our products/services.
    • Work closely with the sales team to create choreographed account and territory outreach plans.
    • Schedule and coordinate meetings or product demonstrations for the sales team with potential clients.
    • Develop and improve sales skills through training and shadowing AE's.
    • Log and record detailed notes and follow ups in our CRM (Salesforce)
    • Set and attain daily, weekly, and monthly pipeline metrics.
    • Provide regular reports on lead generation and conversion metrics.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and competitors to identify new opportunities.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to align outreach strategies with market dynamics.

    KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent in numerate, technical or business discipline
    • Previous B2B sales experience preferred, but not required
    • Ambitious and able to hold self accountable for delivering on activity and outcome KPIs.
    • Great attitude, a love of close team collaboration, and a desire to move and grow quickly in a fast paced environment.
    • Love to prospect – you will act as the engine of our sales team by warming up leads to be shared with AEs.
    • Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience of the commodities industry (or to very quickly learn it).
    • Goal-oriented and results-driven with the ability to create a sense of urgency.
    • Self-motivated, persistent and goal-oriented attitude and can work effectively as an individual or part of a team.
    • A proven track record using CRM (Salesforce) software and lead generation tools (ZoomInfo, Sales Navigator) is a plus.
