Management Accountant | Macildowie - Nottingham | £30,000 - £40,000 + Benefits
Macildowie are currently recruiting a high-calibre, engaging and driven
Management Accountant to work within our own fantastic business.

We are currently operating a hybrid working model, typically 2/3 days in the office with the rest of the team and the rest is flexible and up to you.


You will work as part of a close-knit team, supporting the Finance Director with the production of the management accounts and management information, ensuring robust financial controls and providing excellent business partnering to the rest of the business.

What is the role?

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts to tight deadlines, including calculation of accruals and prepayments, maintenance of fixed asset register and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Calculation of bonus payments for monthly payroll and month end accruals
  • Producing regular and adhoc MI reporting: sales and incentive trackers, contribution by team, customer reporting, reporting to 3rd parties as part of customer contractual obligations
  • Working closely with internal customers providing information and analysis to support them in their roles
  • Supporting with HMRC compliance eg TAS/PSA reporting
  • Oversee sales ledger and cover for credit control where necessary
  • Support the payroll team with journals, reconciliations and cover payroll when needed
  • Liaise with Finance software/service providers where necessary
  • Assist the FD with forecasting and budgeting processes and Statutory Accounts
  • Preparation of information for external audit
  • This list isn't exhaustive, with us being a fairly small business, there will times when you need to roll up your sleeves and help with other duties that aren't listed here

So who are you?

  • You will be part
    qualified (
    ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and ideally have experience in a similar role (SME, hands on environment)
  • Strong Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, advanced formulae)
  • Sage experience strongly desirable
  • Ideally you will have had experience of running some aspects of a payroll before
  • Hands on approach with the attitude to be involved with all areas, even if it falls outside the traditional expectations of your role
  • Comfortable with both Financial and Management Accounts
  • You'll be used to working in a
    fast paced business and you will thrive on making decisions, improvements to both processes and team capabilities.
  • You'll love taking the initiative and at times, being autonomous.
    You'll be solutions focused and see opportunity rather than issues
  • Experience of working through
    difficult situations and improving business capability:
  • Practical, hands on experience of managing financial controls of a
    £multi-million business:
  • Able to influence and deliver positive change in the organisation
