    Role Purpose

    Strategically based out of London, United Kingdom, the role of Network Engineer at Soda will see you work as a key member of a small, dynamic team and reporting directly to the NOC Manager. Working within a 24x7 rotational roster, you will assist in the operation and maintenance of our network infrastructure.

    You will play a crucial part in maintaining our network's optimal performance, minimise interruption and downtime and be our first line of defence against network interruption, degradation, or outages.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Continuously monitor our network's performance and delivery, utilising the latest tools and technologies within the market.
    • Play a pivotal role in coordinating and executing network changes. From leading the charge on implementing updates, patches, or configuration changes, to ensuring that all changes follow approved plans, contributing to enhanced performance.
    • Be at the forefront of troubleshooting issues as and when they arise; quickly identifying and resolving problems to minimise impact on internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure all network incidents are accurately documented, with a focus on communication, solutions and customer satisfaction.
    • Diligently and accurately record resolutions, changes, and procedures, ensuring our Network Operations Team have the information required for review and adherence to workflows and instructions.

    About you

    • Qualification in Telecommunications Engineering and or currently in training for full qualification
    • Experience with routing protocols, network design, wireless network design and implementation, and troubleshooting network performance issues in a large-scale and complex network environment
    • Understanding of Transmission/Long-haul/Subsea/Optical Networks
    • Understanding of IP Networks (MPLS/BGP)
    • Firewalls, switches, routers and other network equipment (Cisco, Fortinet)
    • ITIL V3 knowledge, Service Operations & Service Transition
    • Use of service management systems for network incident, Network change, Service incident and Problem management.
    • Experience with Maintenance Delivery process and management of MOPs
    • Experience with Access, Control and security compliance at facilities
    • Knowledge of Data Centre environments rack management, powering, temperature related management.
    • Experience with Network Event Management process and systems
    • Knowledge of a global telecoms environment with a general understanding of broadband internet, router, switches and optical transmission systems
