    Senior Procurement Manager – Construction, FM & Indirect | £75,000 to £85,000 | Discretionary Bonus | Private Healthcare | Pension | plus many more benefits | Durham based ideally, or Cambridge | 2 days a week in the office | Growing R&D Technology Business

    We are hugely excited to be engaged on an exclusive, brand-new position working for a rapidly growing, hugely ambitious R&D manufacturing technology business which will benefit the UK and Wider world.

    The business has found a brand-new way of designing this "flexible technology" which will impact all types of device, whether it be phones, TVs, Cars, computers, laptops or even large robotic manufacturing machinery. The business has quadrupled in in size over the past couple of years and over the next 2 will do the same.

    They are now looking for a Senior Procurement Manager to join the business, in a relatively new and brownfield procurement function where you will report into the Group Procurement Director, to manage your designated areas of spend. The right profile for this role will have Construction category experience, as well as Facilities Management (Hard & Soft) as well as taking ownership of the Indirect portfolio too. Currently they have UK wide remit, but in the coming years endeavour to expand their manufacturing and office space globally.

    Role and responsibilities:

    • Reporting into the Group Procurement Director, to continue to define the procurement strategy
    • Manage designated spend areas for existing and new manufacturing sites
    • Create long term and strategic supplier strategies for ongoing commercial benefit
    • Using in-depth market knowledge to source the best possible suppliers to support the business innovation
    • Review current spend and supplier base, continuously suggesting improvements to the internal stakeholder pool
    • Support the function and wider business in identifying, improving and designing category strategies and procurement policies
    • Lead on large scale, high value sourcing projects with some being complex in nature
    • Engage with new and review existing suppliers to ensure they meet the companies ESG and CSR group policies

    Experience and requirements:

    • Proven strategic, end to end procurement experience managing high value and complex projects
    • Must have Construction category experience, followed by ideally some FM & Corporate Services
    • Ability to support the growth of a function where process and policies may not be in place yet
    • Experience in managing, recruiting and developing a team underneath you
    • Must be able to work on projects autonomously, but still enjoy being part of a team
    • Able to engage and influence senior stakeholders up to and including the C-Suite
    • Analytical and persuasive approaching to procurement with confident presentation skills
    • Manage large scale contract negotiations, whilst working with Legal to define terms
    • Degree or MCIPS is preferable, but not essential
