The Nottingham Metabolic Service is undergoing an exciting period of expansion.


We are looking to appoint a Band 7 Advanced Practitioner Dietitian to support a maternity leave cover in the paediatric metabolic team at Nottingham Children's hospital.

This will be 1 WTE fixed term for 12 months


We are seeking a dynamic individual who has an interest in working in a specialist and learning-rich environment, who can demonstrate compassion and empathy for our children, young people and their families.

The individual will be joining an expanding multi-professional team as we begin to collaborate with Leicester to form the East Midland's Paediatric Metabolic Service.

Main duties of the job

Working for our organisation


The Nottingham Children's Hospital (NCH) is based at the Queens Medical Centre campus and is part of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH).

We provide In-patient and out-patient care for children up to the age of 19 years old.


With 97 beds, we care for around 40,000 children each year from Nottinghamshire and beyond, treating a full range of conditions, including planned and emergency treatment and surgery, Burns and Plastics, Neurological conditions, Oncology, Paediatric critical care, Renal conditions and transplantation, and Spinal and Orthopaedic care.


The Children's Therapy team at NCH is a friendly and supportive department who work closely alongside the wider MDT, providing excellent evidence based care and innovative ways of working.


Throughout NUH we have a diverse range of AHP and support staff who work together to deliver the high quality care we aspire to supported by our Chief AHP to lead us on our strategic direction.

  • HCPC registration
  • Diploma or degree in relevant qualification
Experience

  • Wide ranging and extensive experience of working within specialist area
  • Experience of delegating to and supervising other members of the team

  • Able to make decisions about the treatment needs of highly complex patients
  • Lead on the development of improvements in service delivery and clinical practice using evidence based practice to recommend changes
Communication

Essential criteria

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Communicate complex patient related information effectively to ensure collaborative working with MDT colleagues across health & social care sectors
Planning & organisational skil

Essential criteria

  • Able to plan the delivery of a service for a specialist area where there is variable capacity and fluctuating demand

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
