MVP Recruitment is an established Financial Services recruitment firm working with many of the top financial advisory firms in the industry nationwide.
Our client is a well-established IFA practice that has been active for nearly 30 years based in the West End.
Due to their growing Assets Under Management,they need to bring experienced and highly technical paraplanners into their teams to support their Financial Advisors.
This role requires the individual to work closely with consultant(s), members of the team and wider company support. Attention to detail, ability to work unsupervised, under pressure and to tight deadlines are all essential. The role will entail researchand report writing within a strong client focussed team.
The company offers flexibility (3 days in office, 2 days WFH), a healthy work/life balance and discretionary bonuses based on company performance.
Responsibilities
- Research and technical assessment of cases submitted by Consultants.
- Production of compliant and technically accurate suitability letters and reports within reasonable timescales.
- Membership of the
Operations Committee:
work with the Management Committee to help develop and implement business strategies including maintaining morale at all levels
- Conducting appraisals and performance reviews for support personnel in linked team
- Assist with personnel queries in linked team, including progression, leave requests, conflict resolution and providing ad hoc support on any issues that may be affecting the individual
- Highlight areas of improvement and present ideas on implementing change.
- Acting as author of suitability letters which will be peer reviewed by the Consultant. Research for client solutions to guide Consultants.
- Assisting the Consultants to answer client queries and provide a solution to their needs. Liaison with compliance department with technical queries.
- Dealing with complex cases and problem solving.
- Adhering to antimoney laundering, DPA and compliance procedures.
Qualifications
- Advanced exams preferably Chartered status.
- 5 years minimum relevant IFA industry experience, at least 3 years at Paraplanner level or equivalent.
- Excellent knowledge of all advice areas including retirement planning and pension consolidation.
- Bespoke client focused report writing experience.
- Evidence of strong technical knowledge.
- Strong understanding of compliance responsibilities and requirements.
- Ability to work within a team, providing support and management to more junior members of the team. Overseeing tasks and ensuring high quality work produced by all. Helping with the management of work and the career progression of others.
- Ability to solve problems, think creatively and communicate well.
