    Early Years Leader - Ultimate Holiday Camps - Maltmans Green School, Gerrards Cross
    £94.33 - £139.46 (Including Holiday Pay, based on an 9.5 hour day) Pay is calculated on age, experience, and qualifications.

    The Details
    Reporting to: Camp Manager
    Contract: Seasonal work in school holidays.
    Hours: 8.00am – 6.00pm weekdays. Full season or part season roles available.
    Summary of Position
    Our Early Years Leader oversees the delivery of the Early Years program on camp, creating an exciting, enjoyable, and nurturing environment. In addition to supervising the setting, you will actively participate in delivering structured sports, arts and crafts activities, and games to the Early Years children attending camp – known as our Ultimate Activity Juniors. The offered activities will comply with EYFS requirements for learning and development, with a focus on participation and quality.
    With guidance from the Camp Manager, you will be the primary contact for the 4- and 5-year-olds at camp, taking responsibility for maintaining their well-being and providing high-quality care. Collaborating with the Camp Manager, you will ensure that all Ofsted requirements are met and be the main point of contact for the parents of our Juniors.
    Our Early Years settings operate with a ratio of 1:8, meaning you may work independently or as part of a team. It is the Early Years Leader's responsibility to organize, guide, and support the rest of the Early Years team to deliver high-quality childcare consistently.
    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Supervise the delivery of a fun and engaging program for the Ultimate Juniors on camp, ensuring compliance with all EYFS requirements.
    • Prepare and conduct quality sports, arts & crafts, and games for the four- and five-year-olds, emphasizing participation, development, and enjoyment.
    • Direct and support a small team of Early Years staff.
    • As the registered person, ensure Ofsted requirements are always met, directly coordinating with an inspector if necessary.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for the parents and guardians of the Juniors. This includes providing feedback on observations or issues to parents.
    • Handle some administrative tasks for the Juniors (e.g., sign-in/out, registration, etc.).
    • Collaborate with the Camp Manager and work as a team to continuously prioritize the welfare of the children under your care.
    • Supervise and interact with the children outside of scheduled activities.
    • Ensure that childcare provision consistently meets high standards to cater to the needs of children from diverse backgrounds and developmental stages.
    • Uphold the Ultimate Activity Camp commitment to 'Inspiring Children Every Day' and demonstrate behavior that aligns with the company's expectations throughout your tenure.
    • Show elevated levels of energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism, serving as a positive role model for the children.
    • Ensure adherence to all camp policies and procedures by both yourself and the children in your care, including health and safety, and safeguarding protocols.
    • Perform other occasional duties (e.g., cleaning, equipment maintenance/ordering, etc.).

    Essential Requirements
    • Educated to at least Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare or Primary Education, with significant experience working with 4- and 5-year-olds.
    • Have experience in working with children, conducting activities, and being able to customize the delivery and structure of a session based on age and ability.
    • Be enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about fostering children's development through play and activity.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills. Candidates should feel confident in leading a group of children and embracing responsibility.
    • Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and its application in a camp environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with exceptional face-to-face customer service abilities. Candidates must feel comfortable engaging with parents.
    • A proactive and diligent team player who can adapt to changing circumstances and challenges at camp.
    • Seeking a potentially demanding yet immensely rewarding and enjoyable role during holidays, aiming to enhance their career in the childcare sector.
    Desirable Requirements
    • Some previous management or supervisory experience.
    • Experience in independently supervising a group of children.
    • Hold a Paediatric First Aid (12-hour or 6-hour) certification.
