    Description
    An exciting CNC Miller position has become available in Bitton at a precision engineering company.

    Job Title:
    CNC Miller Setter Operator


    Shift:
    Double Days


    Rate:
    Up to £20 p/h including shift allowance


    The Job:

    • As a CNC Setter Operator your role involves the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC machines.
    • Your expertise in machine setup, and precision machining will ensure the production of high-quality parts that meet strict industry standards and specifications.
    • You will work closely with engineers, and other manufacturing personnel to achieve efficient and accurate machining operations.

    The ideal candidate:

    • Experience in setting up CNC machines, including installing workpieces, fixtures, cutting tools.
    • Ability to set Work Shifts including 4th Axis and Trunions.
    • Ability to select and install appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures for the machining process.
    • CNC Setter/Operators must have a keen eye for detail and the ability to monitor the machining process closely, making adjustments to tooling or machine settings as necessary to maintain precision and quality.
    • In-depth knowledge and experience in operating CNC machines, specifically Heidenhain & Fanuc Controls
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
    • Strong understanding of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code).
    • Capability to identify and resolve common CNC machine issues, such as tooling problems.
    • Proficiency in conducting routine machine maintenance and cleaning to ensure optimal performance.
    • Knowledge of machine calibration and alignment procedures to maintain accuracy and precision.
    • To be confident in the recalibration of both Probes & OTS measuring Equipment
    • Ability to document and maintain accurate production records, including setup sheets, tool lists & kits
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, machining techniques, and process improvements.
    • Adherence to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Knowledge of machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
