  • Stopford have a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental Consultant, with responsibility for environmental reports and other deliverables to support planning and environmental permit
  • This is a fulltime, permanent position based in Knutsford working 3 days in the office and 2 days
- remotely.

The Role of Environmental Consultant
As an Environmental Consultant, you will support Stopford's environmental consultancy services
- across industries transitioning to net-zero, including renewable energy generation, power to liquid
- processes and the nascent hydrogen sector.

  • You will report to the Lead Environmental Consultant and work closely with, and provide expert
- advice to, colleagues, clients and third-party contractors.

  • The Environmental Consultant will have responsibility for:
  • Providing environmental expertise to Stopford's clients.
  • Producing accurate and appropriate technical documentation (e.g. reports and calculations),
ensuring that written and verbal communication is always professional. Providing advice on
environmental issues as requested by in-house engineering design teams on specific projects.

  • Supporting the preparation of Stopford proposals to clients including preparing manhour
estimates for consultancy services and writing proposals for environmental studies. Supporting
the Business Development team in the completion of environmental pre-qualification
submissions.

  • Taking responsibility for developing a high level of environmental expertise within Stopford.
Maintain up to date knowledge and professional competence in the environmental field to
include legislative requirements and industry practice.

  • Developing, owning and communicating inhouse environmental guides and standards.
Providing coaching and development of other members of staff in the area of environmental
services.

  • Ensuring that environmental services delivered to Stopford's clients are fitforpurpose and
maintained at a high standard, in accordance with the Business Management System.

  • Acting as a Project Manager on relevant projects when required.
  • Supervising junior members of staff, including students.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and customer focus and perform any other tasks within the overall
scope of environmental consultancy, which may be reasonable to ensure the efficient operation
of the company.

About you

  • You will have a degree in a relevant environmental discipline.
  • Excellent knowledge of environmental legislation and policy.
  • Professional affiliation with or membership of appropriate body.
  • Have relevant experience in a consultancy environment or other relevant industry

- experience.
  • Experience of providing competent advice to clients and colleagues.
  • Have experience of liaising with the competent authority.
  • Experience in planning, dispersion modelling and waste incineration would be highly

- desirable.
  • Must be customer focused by striving for excellence through understanding, anticipating
- and meeting the needs of others.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to manage/deliver several projects

- at once.
  • Strong IT skills with a knowledge of Office 365 and Sharepoint.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
