    Description

    Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

    Location: Bristol

    Pay Range/details: £40,000 to £60,000 per annum

    Contract Type: Permanent

    My client is offering the opportunity to join one of the UK's leading energy infrastructure providers. We are looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team to Design, develop, and implement electrical infrastructure solutions for renewable energy projects.

    Key Responsibilities – Electrical Design Engineer

    Select and specify primary equipment and design HV substations from 11 kV to 132 kV.

    Work closely with the in-house CAD drafting team to generate equipment layouts, cable route drawings, construction, and legal plans for new HV connections

    Produce AC/DC schematics for protection, control, and SCADA panels, and liaise with our in-house panel assemblers on the construction of panels.

    Attend sites for inspection and design purposes and attend manufacturers factory acceptance tests when required.

    Prepare design packages for DNO contestable works from 11 kV to 132 kV.

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    • Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
    • A Higher degree or post graduate qualification in power systems would be an advantage.
    • Have obtained or be working towards professional registration with the IET at IENG / CENG level
    • Candidates must have previous experience as an electrical engineer or design engineer within the electrical contracting or utilities industries. You will possess excellent technical knowledge and be able to apply this in a practical way
    • The ability to manage multiple design projects and prioritise conflicting project deadlines.
    • The ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and project engineers, to understand their expectations and justify your design decisions.
    • Strong report writing skills and the ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner.
    • The ability to support the continued development of electrical design engineers by providing technical guidance.
    • Must have legal right to work in the UK without limitation.
    • Must be available to travel on work related business with occasional overnight stays.
    • Must hold a full UK driving licence.
