Overview:
MacTaggart Scott are looking to recruit a Hydraulic Fitter.
Role:
Duties will include:
The job involves assembling, testing, fault finding, installing and repairing hydraulic power units and related equipment.
Sometimes the Fitter will work from a complete set of drawings and sometimes they will need to use their initiative.
Some offsite commissioning will be required.Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Regular checking of equipment.
- Cleaning and repair of equipment.
- Requesting supplies such as tooling, gauges and fittings
Essential skills, experience and knowledge requirements:
- Have a traditional mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Hold a current drivers license.
- Possess good allround knowledge and experience of hydraulic systems and equipment.
- Be efficient in reading and understanding engineering drawings and hydraulic circuits.
- Have experience of pressure testing and functional testing of hydraulic equipment.
- Be able to work under own initiative and occasionally coordinate activities off site to ensure work is completed on time, within budget and to customer specification/requirements.
