Associate Director of Innovation
£80,0000 - £100,000 + Bonus


London / South of England - Hybrid Remote


Associate Director of Innovation - Our client is an established corporate services conglomerate working within financial Services - covering Diversified Financial Services, corporate services and alternative assets.

Employing circa 1500 employees acrossmultiple continents.


Due to year-on-year organic growth our client is actively seeking an experienced Associate Director of Innovation to work in unison with the Director of innovation to conceptualise and drive the delivery of new innovative products / services that will beprofitable - enabling the business to accelerate their global expansion.


As the preferred applicant you will have current / previous experience of working within a dynamic - fast past environment - developing commercially viable, innovative data - centric products and services through user involvement, with a strong end-to-endbusiness understanding.


As a strategic thinker you will have an entrepreneurial mindset, that will enable you to identify and develop relationships with potential technology partners - as well as support marketing activities to generate interest in new propositions.


Key responsibilities:


  • Develop and expand a pipeline of unique innovative products and services to generate new revenue streams
  • Build synergy with internal marketing, legal, compliance and client facing teams
  • Identifying and evaluate disruptive technologies that can build value for the business
  • Commercialisation of innovations
  • Go to Market strategy / execution
  • Develop technology commercialisation plans including earlystage commercialisation strategies and value proposition validation
  • Identify & develop relationships with potential technology partners and support marketing activities to generate interest in new propositions
  • Negotiate commercial agreements with vendors, partners and clients
  • Prepare business plans, develop and execute implementation plans
  • Evaluate new innovations and business opportunities for commercial potential, including conducting market research and competitor analysis
  • Develop project plans and execute evidencegenerating activities that build innovation value and advance innovation projects toward commercialisation
  • Solution experiments, product prototyping and validation testing

Skills, knowledge, expertise:


  • Degree / MSc Educated or have sufficient relevant commercial experience
  • Experience working in an incubator/startup/Innovation environment within a medium to large global organisation preferably financial services
  • Hands on experience of designing and developing data centric digital products and monetising with clients
  • Experience in testing new propositions; you master agile, design thinking and lean techniques for user involvement throughout the development processes
  • Highly developed collaboration and engagement techniques, able to motivate and communicate to "sell the dream" of new ideas.
  • Good project management and change management skills, combined with a "cando" attitude and the drive to followthrough on ideas
  • Experience in innovation scouting and ideally in an Innovation team/hub/lab/function
  • Hands on experience of designing and developing data centric digital products and monetising with clients
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to identify & develop relationships with potential technology partners, colleagues, collaborators and clients
  • Comfortable producing financial modelling for business casing and funding requests
  • Legal or contractual experience with clear understanding of licenses &/or collaboration agreements
  • Experienced in growth and innovation, with strong examples of growing businesses by building and delivering innovative propositions
  • Experience of IP generation and protection, structural partnership formations and commercial collaborations is highly desirable.
