- Work closely with the Head of European Underwriting to develop and implement the departmental business plan
- Cultivate profitable business and be accountable for profitable underwriting performance
- Negotiate and maximise business profitability by means of effective underwriting decisions and techniques
- Contribute to the business development strategy
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with key London M&A Brokers
- Carry out yearly audit of underwriting files and process
- Experience of underwriting M&A transactions
- In depth understanding of complex and specialist products including M&A transactions
- The ability to contribute to product development and non-conventional tailoring of various products to meet customer needs and manage risk
- Significant experience building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent leadership, coaching and influencing skills
- Able to demonstrate continuous improvement capabilities
