Senior Claims Handler

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Claims Handler to join our client's team and provide excellent customer service to meet the insurance needs of their clients.
As a Senior Claims Handler, you will be responsible for handling claims from inception to resolution, conducting liability investigations, and collating information provided by the client.
You will also be responsible for liaising with customers and insurers to ensure prompt and accurate advice is given.
In addition, you will be required to carry out administrative tasks, including processing mid-term adjustments and MID updates, negotiating and inviting the renewal of allocated client's policies, and ensuring all client records reflect the current risk on cover at all times.
You will also be required to create all invoices and relevant credit notes for new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments in line with the Broking Manual/Company Procedures.
As a Senior Claims Handler, you will be expected to deputize for the manager when required to do so and carry out ad-hoc management duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive customer service to meet the insurance needs of our clients
- Handle claims from inception, conduct liability investigations, and collate information provided by the client
- Liaise with customers and insurers to ensure prompt and accurate advice is given
- Respond to and resolve customer queries to optimize customer service
- Process midterm adjustments and updates as required
- Negotiate and invite renewal of allocated client's policies
- Ensure all client records reflect the current risk on cover at all times, including accuracy of sums insured, perils, excesses, extensions, and exclusions
- Create all invoices and relevant credit notes for New Business, Renewals, Mid-Term Adjustments, etc., in line with the Broking Manual/Company Procedures
- Manage the database by accurately inputting and updating client and claims data
- Carry out general administrative duties, including filing, photocopying, scanning, and other tasks as required
- Deputize for the manager when required to do so and carry out adhoc management duties
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Good IT skills, including experience with databases and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of insurance and claims handling procedures
- Good academic background
- Be organized and efficient
- Have strong observational, time management, and communication skills
Training:
Training for the position will take place at our client's Head Office in Peterborough and will be concurrent with familiarization with the environment and the role.
Salary:
The salary for this position is £25000-£28000 per annum.
