    Flight Training Devices Manager – FlightSafety International, Farnborough, UK

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Flight Training Devices Manager to join the FSI Learning Centre based in Farnborough. We pride ourselves on our professional reputation for excellent flight training within the general aviation industry.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the engineering team managing 14 full flight simulators
    • Responsible for all maintenance, repair and NAA qualification of flight training devices (FTD)
    • Control all Flight Training Device moves, decommissions and installations
    • Oversight & management of Flight FTD hardware / software upgrades & modifications
    • Liaise effectively with Corporate, commercial and military customers at all levels within and outside of the business
    • Manage staff to ensure scheduling FTD maintenance and to ensure effective utilization of simulator time
    • Responsible for Learning Centre facility routine maintenance, oversight of maintenance contracts/contractors and special building projects.

    • Strong leadership capabilities
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface at all levels with customers, contractors, subject matter experts and aircraft/avionics manufacturers
    • Strong organization and team resource planning skills
    • Strong implementation/influential management abilities
    Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline or completion of a civilian / military technical school
    • 10 years' related experience including direct simulation, technical support, fault analysis and repair of digital / analog FTDs and subsystems or related experience
    • Ideally, minimum 5-7 years of supervisory experience, including hands-on supervisory role of NAA certified full flight simulators, or related experience
    • Project and contract management experience desired
    Salary Range: £70,000 - £100,000
