- Coordinating, overseeing, and enhancing the library service to maximize engagement from both staff and students through the strategic planning and execution of various library-related initiatives.
- Maintaining an awareness of books currently being published for young people and use this knowledge in the promotion of reading for pleasure within school.
- Supervising the School Library, including administration, security, and control of pupil behaviour.
- Participating in School Librarian networking group meetings to enhance CPD.
- A strong degree in an appropriate subject or relevant professional experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience of working with younger people
- Knowledge and understanding of library and information skills
- IT literate
