Senior Planner - Edinburgh

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a UK leading commercial real estate service company in their hire of an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Planner to their dynamic team in Edinburgh


My client is known for having a track record in providing a full range of services to real estate occupiers, developers, and investors on a local, national, and international basis across 4 core sectors - office, industrial, retail, and hotel, as well asmany specialised property types.

This is a unique opportunity to work on large planning projects across the UK from an Edinburgh base.

The Team offers a UK wide planning consultancy advice to clients and are experienced and well respected in the planning market.

You will undertake strategic projects throughout the UK- including current work on three new garden villages.

This will mean working on range of projects in England & Scotland, across all scales and sectors, for an equally diverse client base.


  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills to liaise with clients and colleagues alike and impart sound planning consultancy advice in an assured manner
  • Demonstrates sound planning knowledge of English and Scottish planning systems and have an attention for detail
  • Must possess sound IT skills, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams)
  • Must be able to work effectively as part of the Planning team
  • Must possess very good written and verbal communication skills
  • Should possess a relevant qualification and be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute or Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors
  • Possess or is in the process of obtaining a driving licence
