Job Overview:


The Telecom Civils Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of civil engineers and technicians in the design, construction, and maintenance of telecommunication infrastructure, including foundations, buildings, and underground networks.

The individual will be responsible for ensuring that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.


Responsibilities:


  • Carry out excavation, reinstatement, and maintenance works on highways and footways
  • Operate and maintain a range of equipment, including excavation machinery, hand tools, and compaction equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and procedures
  • Lead and supervise a team of civil engineers and technicians in the design, construction, and maintenance of telecommunication infrastructure.
  • Plan and coordinate work assignments, schedules, and resources to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess work requirements and ensure that all safety and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Design and supervise the construction of foundations, buildings, and other structures to support telecommunications equipment.
  • Design and supervise the installation of underground networks, including ducts and conduits.
  • Inspect and test installed infrastructure to ensure proper function and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair infrastructure faults and malfunctions.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a similar role
  • CSCS Card
  • NRSWA Accreditation
  • Full UK driving license
  • Previous experience in a leadership role in telecommunication civils or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with the design and construction of telecommunication infrastructure, including foundations, buildings, and underground networks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent IT skills with Microsoft Office and data entry knowledge

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to visit and inspect construction sites, which may require climbing ladders or stairs, and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
