    Handley James Chemical are excited to be partnered with a passionate and progressive chemical business, focusing on the supply of speciality chemicals into a number of sectors.

    Since their inception they have experienced amazing growth and are continuing to do so, as part of their growth plans we are excited to be recruiting a Sales Manager to join their company and add real value to their market in here in the UK.

    Our client have established a strong presence within the supply of speciality materials used across food, animal feed, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. To steer and expand this exciting growth, we seek an accomplished Sales Manager with a demonstrated aptitude for business development.

    This role will offer an invigorating blend of challenges, a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to foster an entrepreneurial spirit. You will be responsible for driving a whole new business unit and continuing the company's upward trajectory. Your main responsibilities will include:

    • Business development and growth of the new speciality raw materials business unit.
    • Develop and nurture a sales team as required and provide effective leadership, setting clear goals, providing guidance and support, and fostering a high-performance culture.
    • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with potential clients, and negotiate contracts to secure new accounts in the UK.
    • Maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs, addressing inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service.
    • Stay ahead of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities. Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential growth areas, customer demands, and emerging opportunities.
    • Track sales performance, analyse key metrics, and prepare regular reports on sales activities and revenue forecasts.
    • Produce product/ company presentations and present to potential and current customers.
    • Oversee the financial performance (P&L) of the business unit, monitor expenses, manage budgets, and optimise profitability in line with the company's financial objectives.
    • Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction
    • Visit customers, distributors and suppliers as required.

    Candidate Requirements

    Currently a proven and successful Sales Manager you will have experience within the chemical manufacturing/distribution sectors, ideally within either food, animal feed, cosmetics or pharmaceuticals. (Not essential) and will have a technical understanding of your given sector.

    You will be keen in a true growth role, where you will not only impact sales but the business as it continues to grow throughout the UK and Europe. You will be a self-starter and motivated to drive the business forward and identify these areas of growth. You will have excellent technical and commercial acumen with the ability to build strong relationships, with a value-added mindset.

    The ideal candidate will also have some supervisory and/or leadership experience to focus on coaching and mentoring of a team in the short to medium term.

    In return our client is offering a competitive base salary c£40,000 - £60,000 negotiable doe, benefits, bonus, profit share opportunities for the right individual.

    This role is a hybrid/remote position with expected travel to customers and suppliers as and when required.
