  • Headquarters 160th (Welsh) Brigade is committed to providing and delivering engagement opportunities for the Army across Wales.
  • We are recruiting for 2 Army Storekeeper/Warehouse Operative to assist with providing vital logistic support to contribute to the overall operational needs of all users of 160th (Welsh) Brigade, 1 position to be based at Brecon Barracks and the other at Maindy Barracks, Cardiff.
  • We are looking for selfmotivated individuals with excellent interpersonal abilities who have experience of using a variety of management information systems and who can adapt easily to changing priorities.
  • Working as a member of a small team, they will provide direct assistance to the Station Staff Officer (SSO) in the delivery of daily business outputs. Job description:


  • The successful applicant will be responsible, on a daytoday basis, to the Station Staff Officer. As the Materiel Accountant (MA) and Unit Application Administrator (UAA) the Army Storekeeper/Warehouse Operative is a key component in providing crucial logistic support which supplies the overall logístical and operational needs of all members of the Brigade and its adopted lodger units.

Person specification:

To provide Real Life Support in the context of stores operating in service Logistic information Systems in accordance with unit policy and Army Regulations:

  • Receipt of stores equipment on delivery from Royal Logistics Corps supply depots and external suppliers
Preparation of store equipment to be sent for repair.

  • Manage equipment for backloading including preparation of documentation and equipment for dispatch.
  • Stocktake and replenish items of expense stock as required ensuring that excessive quantities are not held in store.
Support the Barracks and contractors using the current contract guidelines in place


General Duties:

  • Accounting for Bde assets, Logistic Information System management, moving, lifting of stores, equipment, furniture and complying with all Defence regulations and UK law governing Materiel Stores Management.
  • Responsible for complying with assurance audits and be present at all times for external audits and inspections on the areas employed or responsible in line with current policy.
  • Collection and delivery of stores within and outside the Barracks.
  • To be fully aware of Equipment Care, Health, Safety, Environmental, Fire and Security measures and responsibilities that are in place.
  • Carry out driving tasks and Manual Handling Equipment tasks in support of the general duties as commensurate with the grade. (Current Cat B driving license essential)
  • Responsible for carrying out Stores and Unit Fire Extinguisher Maintenance.
Cardiff Station - Responsible for the Handover and Takeover of accommodation booked through Cardiff Station

  • Ensure key accountability
  • Before and After checks on cleanliness of accommodation
  • Accommodation item checks for accountability and condition
  • This post will involve on occasions working outside of the core hours, so a degree of flexibility is required. (This may require the need to work on evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays or outside Core hours. Time off in lieu (TOIL) will be granted for additional hours worked).
Brecon Barracks - Responsible for the Logistic Information System Unit Application Administrator duties for The Barracks

  • Stock Control Officer, maintaining Discrepancy Register's (reconciliation of stock).
  • Preparation of daily Information Management System stock checks (including performance and quarterly/monthly).
  • Maintenance of stock take register.
  • Alerts management, stocktaking investigation reports.
  • Daily Information System Management (alerts, failed reports, log files, queue monitor).
  • Collation of all mandatory paperwork.
  • Logistic Management System fault reporting liaising with IT Help desks.
These posts requires a degree of physical ability as you will be expected to lift and carry boxes of clothing and equipment around the store (also load/offload vehicles),
