    Job summary

    A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our Hand Therapy team based at Queen Alexandra Hospital (QAH) Portsmouth. We are seeking like-minded, enthusiastic, well-motivated Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists to join our friendly, highly skilled and supporting team of professionals.

    Main duties of the job

    Ideally, you will have relevant hand therapy experience to the level of BAHT I. If you are interested in moving into this field and have limited experience, we will provide you with the training and development needed to ensure you have the right skills to deliver excellent care in this exciting and rewarding MSK specialty. You will also have access to structured supervision, regular in-service training and the opportunity to participate in local hand specialist network meetings and study days.

    Job responsibilities

    The post is based in the Rehabilitation Centre at QAH. You will be joining a team which provides treatments for patients with complex hand presentations from Orthopaedics, Plastics, and Rheumatology Services. You will be working in an outpatient setting and gain experience in working in a clinical environment alongside specialist consultants, surgeons and nurses. As a Band 6, you will have the opportunity to support the Band 7 team leads in service and team development and to develop your leadership and management skills.     Qualifications

  • Degree or post graduate diploma in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
  • Registration with HCPC
  • Desirable

  • Practice Placement Qualification
  • BAHT at level 1 or relevant experience
  • Experience

  • Commitment to lifelong learning evidenced through CPD portfolio
  • Commitment to client centred non-discriminatory practice
  • Working in a team
  • Supervising students
  • Documented evidence of CPD
  • 2 years post registration experience
  • Desirable
