We wish to appoint an experienced, committed and caring teacher to join our supportive team and make a significant difference to our students through their work. You may be an experienced teacher who wants a new challenge in a classroom teacher role, or you may be seeking a role with a TLR. We are open to a discussion about where you feel your skills, interests and experience might help us to realise our ambitions for English at Wellacre.

The post offers a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to be part of a team in developing the curriculum and innovative practice in teaching and learning. There are opportunities to strengthen our curricular and co-curricular offer and really become part of an exceptional group of staff in a happy and thriving school. This post would be suitable for someone looking for their first step into middle leadership or someone with leadership experience looking for a new challenge in a school which is committed to sustaining a climate in which teachers are valued.

We prioritise staff and student wellbeing and have realistic policies for feedback, two data captures a year and a centralised detention system. We recognise staff and student achievement and provide tailored CPD programmes which have been recognised in two Gold Awards from the Teacher Development Trust.

The English department is well-resourced and forward-thinking in curriculum and teaching approaches. Good progress has been made in establishing a bank of good-quality resources which teachers can adapt to meet the needs of their students. The department has access to high-quality external support.

Wellacre Academy is a happy and caring 11–16 boys' school set in the heart of Trafford. We have high expectations for all our students, and our policies and practices are values-driven. Alongside our lessons, we provide a rich and diverse co-curricular programme that develops character and inspires our students. We all work together to instil a strong sense of belonging for all.
