    As a Technical Lead, you will work along with the Product Owner and Scrum Master and Feature Team members with a focus on building up the right engineering capabilities within a Feature team, equipping them with the skills, tools, and standard approaches to deliver technical excellence, and ensuring that they are focused on delivering value to the business,

    through effective solution design, development, and implementation.

    What I need to do – my accountabilities

    • Review, develop and maintain best practice policies, processes, controls, and systems and drive a positive change culture to ensure relevant compliance and ensure the Feature Team is always 'audit ready' and operating at maximum performance and effectiveness
    • Assess the technical feasibility of newly created product ideas/software projects and continuously propose implementation solutions while identifying and providing solutions to risk throughout the design and development lifecycle
    • Lead, nurture, and support cross-functional teams and deliver effective cross-disciplinary collaboration throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business priorities and that all software development is delivered with highly effective code across our portfolio
    • Regular and prompt attendance at tech updates and stand-ups providing accurate updates where appropriate. As necessary, lead the meetings and ensure any delivery risks/bottlenecks/successes are highlighted
    • Promote and advocate writing logical, pragmatic code and frequently perform code reviews alongside the Chapter Leads and/or lead Engineers to ensure it is fit for purpose and effective
    • Regularly update accurate records of software engineering and data in relevant tools and systems in line with the Bank's procedures, provide any relevant data/reports for management relating to feature/story activity and work with key stakeholders to suggest suitable improvements
    • Lead, supervise and retain the team to achieve Program Increment objectives, to act in line with our values
    • Help to develop the team by identifying any skills, knowledge, or experience gaps, and ensuring delivery of training or coaching requirements to fill any gaps in conjunction with the relevant Chapter Leads
    • Review performance throughout the year and encourage continuous skills development
    • Manage effective resolution of any people issues on the team, minimising business risk
    • Clearly communicate and cascade the bank's policy, standard operating procedures, and legislative updates to ensure team(s) are working in line with best practice and business risk is minimised
    • Any other duties as required that reasonably fall within the role

    • Skilled in delivering technology change using Agile and iterative delivery methods.
    • Skilled in Leading teams of Engineers within a technology environment comprising multiple applications
    • Strong Technical leadership.
    • Strong Stakeholder Management

    Knowledge

    • An ability to acquire good technical knowledge of the applications, platforms, products and solutions in your allocated

    Feature Team

    • Experience and knowledge in dealing with third party vendors to agree timescales and priorities for releases
    • Understands internal and external vendor developed code for related platforms.
    • Experience working with Solution Architecture and Engineering to design, document and implement technology solutions, from inception through to production release.
    • Knowledge of relevant Products/Services from an operational point of view and understands technical processes
    • Able to understand technical specifications relating to product operational or distribution change

    Essential job-specific qualifications

    • No specific qualifications are required for this role, however technical/development background across one or more of the following systems & technologies is necessary – Angular, iOS, Android, React, T24/Core Banking, IBM Integration
    • Bus, Oracle/SQL, Java, ASP.NET, Authentication & IDAM systems

    I have probably got this experience (Minimum requirement to do the job)

    • Experience as a lead engineer, functional or technical engineer.
    • Has experience leading a team of engineers to deliver technical change, preferably in financial services.
