    Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 (dependent on experience) pro-rata

    Hours: Monday to Friday 8-hour day, core hours 9am to 3pm. Welcome applications from people who need flexibility in working hours. Occasional evening work may be required.

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a passionate and experienced Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Training Consultant to join our team. This role is central to delivering high-impact training and consultancy services across a variety of projects with clients in industry and academia. The successful candidate will facilitate focus groups, conduct 1-to-1 interviews, design and execute organisation-wide surveys, and lead on client engagement. Training work may include delivering on our flagship SAFE Leader programme, developing or delivering shorter and bespoke workshops meeting specific client needs, and online content This position offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the engineering sector.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and deliver bespoke training and consultancy projects on diversity, equity, and inclusion within engineering and similar environments, principally within the SAFE Leader model
    • Facilitate focus groups and 1-to-1 interviews, gather and analyse data to inform training and consultancy practices.
    • Design and implement organisation-wide surveys to assess and promote psychological safety and wellbeing in the workplace.
    • Lead on client engagement, establishing strong relationships with stakeholders in both industry and academia.
    • Utilise findings from the EqualEngineers Masculinity in Engineering research to underpin all work, ensuring relevance and impact.
    • Create and lead the development of new training courses, tailoring content to meet the specific needs of our diverse client base.
    • Stay abreast of current trends and research in diversity, equity, inclusion, wellbeing, and mental health, applying this knowledge to enhance our services.

    Essential Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
    • Proven experience in developing, facilitating and delivering training within Engineering or related fields.
    • Deep understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, with a passion for social justice and positive change.
    • Strong background in designing and executing research methods such as focus groups, interviews, and surveys.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
    • Experience in leading and managing projects, with a track record of delivering high-quality outcomes.
    • Ability to work flexibly in various settings, including industry and academic environments.

    Desirable

    • Experience working within the engineering sector, with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities related to diversity and inclusion in Engineering or related fields.
    • Knowledge of wellbeing and mental health impacts on workplace culture.
    • A creative and innovative approach to training and consultancy, with the ability to develop new and engaging courses.
