Principal Data Scientist

West London, UK (3/4 days per week in office)

Up to £100,000 Salary

My Client is a Major UK travel giant hiring for a Principal Data Scientist to join their well-established Data Science function, spearheading a range of commercially applicable Machine Learning projects As a Principal Data Scientist, you will be leading a small team of Data Scientists on a range of ML projects, solving commercial challenges through a variety of Machine Learning techniques. Your responsibilities as a Principal Data Scientist will include but not be limited to:

• Solve operational challenges & problems through a variety of Machine Learning techniques.
• Lead a small team of Data Scientists on commercially applicable Data Science projects.
• Leverage a breadth of operational Data Science techniques and models to deliver key projects for the Data Science team.
• Reviewing code and implementing data science best practises
• Mentor more junior team members and engage with senior business stakeholders.

A successful Principal Data Scientist will have the following:

• Min. 5 years commercial experience as a Data Scientist, including in a Lead or Tech Lead position with mentorship/ team leadership experience.
• Background in core and fundamental Data Science practises
• Strong exposure solving operational and commercial challenges through Data Science & Machine Learning.
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Preferably background in operations/ operational research and solving challenges in operations.
• Minimum of BSc in STEM subject or Operational Research
