    Finance Project Lead (12-18mth Fixed term contract)

    Cambridgeshire (blend of Office & on-site)

    £Six-Figure base salary + Pension + Holidays.

    Our client is a major UK research-led institution delivering a significant financial transformation programme to enable better financial business partnering and management information to its client groups. This will support the organisation through improved planning and investment decision making going forward.

    Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a pivotal role in a complex programme of works with a broad leadership team delivering projects across all of the subject specialisms. The organisation is in the process of appointing its partner to assist with the system implementation of an Oracle suite over the next two years. This role will make sure the system delivers what is needed in reports and information for the wider finance team and broader client group.

    At this stage our client is seeking to complement and strengthen the existing project team by having an experienced finance professional (Projects expert, ex-FD, CFO or seasoned finance professional) to join the team and focus on;

    • leadership and develop capability across the extended programme community
    • collating and streamlining future BI requirements and identifiable future needs into a cohesive Management Reporting portfolio.
    • finance perspective on the optimum technical architectural and associated reporting solutions
    • the design, development and implementation of a comprehensive suite of core Management Reporting solutions to be taken forward by the broader finance group

    Candidates will have a finance/accounting background (OR significant experience solutioning and overseeing successful implementation of a finance solution) with demonstrable expertise in overseeing the optimum management reporting, workstream leadership and the implementation of new financial systems.

    They will possess strong EQ and interpersonal communication skills, with efficient business partnering capabilities to engage and lead a broad and complex group of stakeholder from research and academia.
