Our client provides strategic insight to investors, corporations, governments and non-profit organisations at the intersection of geopolitics and policy.
The Associate role:
The Associate role will be based in London and will work closely with more senior members of the MAP team to deliver key macroeconomic and geopolitical insights to a range of global clients and contribute to a variety of tasks across corporate strategy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Undertake analysis on a wide range of opensource market and political information sources, lending deep understanding of global affairs and markets.
- Identifying, monitoring and reporting upon sources of risk and opportunity in the global geopolitical and macroeconomic environment.
- Working alongside Senior Associates, Directors and Managing Directors on various client engagement initiatives and objectives.
- Ability to produce concise, informative reports for distribution internally to MAP analyst team, as well externally to a wide range of MAP's clients.
- Handson involvement in the preparation of client strategy/briefing notes, as well as presentation materials alongside more senior members of the analyst team.
- Creation of charts and visual aids in support of MAP analyst team.
- Attend and take comprehensive notes during policy discussions with the firm's network of experts and advisors.
Essential Skills:
- Demonstrated understanding of fundamental macroeconomic and political frameworks/concepts, either within a particular region or more broadly.
- Proven interest in foreign affairs and geopolitics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Capable of producing highquality work in a highpressure environment.
- Organisational and time management skills, ability to prioritise and manage work on multiple projects to tight deadlines;
Experience and Qualifications:
- MA/MSc or BA degree in International Relations/International Affairs/Economics
- Two years' professional experience in a relevant field. Additional relevant internships a plus.
