Sported is a leading charity supporting the UK's largest network of sport and physical activity groups and we exist to provide the skills, resources and funding needed for them to become sustainable and deliver services to the young people and communities they serve.
Poverty, crime and mental health issues coupled with youth unemployment and COVID-19, have compounded already disadvantaged communities and individuals and widened inequalities.
We support the thousands of community sports groups that seek to remove barriers from young people's lives to allow them to thrive against the odds.

This is an amazing opportunity for a passionate individual with a voluntary, community or sport background and experience developing and driving strategy to join our dedicated organisation.
Your work will have a direct impact on the support we provide to thousands of community sports groups, helping young people to thrive.
We'll support you in all your personal and professional ambitions and aim to provide you with everything you need to excel, whether that's flexible working arrangements, time off to volunteer or a confidential counselling service.
As a Strategic Lead, you will shape, lead and deliver our profile and programme to support community sports groups in London.
You will generate and manage key partnerships and projects, including the GLA, London Marathon Foundation, Sport England and the City Bridge Trust, ensuring they are delivered efficiently and effectively and all monitoring and evaluation requirements are met.
Overseeing our 400 members and volunteers, you will ensure they are supported with a range of membership benefits and services whilst making sure we are fully funded to positively create change for our members and their communities.
Additionally, you will:
- Line manage the London Regional Manager and the London team
- Manage and develop existing relationships with regional stakeholders
- Represent Sported at external meetings and networking events
- Work with the fundraising team to approach new income generating partnerships
To be considered as a Strategic Lead, you will need:
- At least five years' experience in the voluntary, community or sport sector
- Experience developing and driving strategy at a regional or national level
- Experience creating and managing high performing teams
- Experience identifying and securing funding from a range of funding sources
- Experience developing and stewarding strategic partnerships
- Knowledge of organisational management in the third sector
- A strong understanding of sport for development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
