Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager, the Business Intelligence Officer will be a key contributor to the successful delivery of the performance targets within Great places.


PURPOSE OF ROLE:


  • To work with the team to report performance
  • Responsible for collecting, analysing and presenting key performance data on time and ensuring Data Quality is of the highest standard
  • Support colleagues with their performance information requirements
  • To support the delivery of intelligent business information through a range of mechanisms, in particular selfserve tools for use by colleagues, in line with the Business Intelligence Strategy, leading to intelligence led decision making.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support the production of key performance reports, ensuring they are on time and to a high standard across a range of audiences including Board, management and customers.
  • Support the analysis of key performance data to identify improvement priorities and trends, presented in an accessible format.
  • Manage the BI Team inbox, triaging incoming report / data requests so the are dealt with in an effective and timely manner.
  • Gather greater insight and intelligence around key drivers of performance by working closely with service delivery teams
  • Support the design, collection, analysis and sharing of quantitative & qualitative research.
  • Provide support to corporate projects (customer feedback, procurement, equality and diversity, value for money, etc.)
  • Work with Managers across the business to identify the management information necessary to ensure performance across all priority areas can be accurately measured and monitored.
  • Provide bespoke analysis and technical expertise in appropriate analysis and visualisation techniques to support colleagues across the business with scrutinising data.
  • Escalate issues with data accuracy or system usage to the appropriate channel to ensure prompt and satisfactory resolution.
  • Support BI colleagues in ongoing improvements to how we produce more automated performance data, how we cut and slice data in different ways and how we analyse information intelligently and flexibly.
  • Be a key contributor to the completion of statistical returns as required by Regulatory bodies e.g. the Regulatory Statistical Return.
  • Promote continuous improvement in the organisation by helping the sharing of good practice

QUALIFICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS:

  • Qualified to minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and maths.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Essential

  • Working across different service teams
  • Meeting tight deadlines
  • Collating statistical information
  • Understanding the principles of good performance management and the importance of high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Ability to understand the business's BI requirements and succinctly articulate these back and to colleagues in technical roles who will be required to support.
  • Experience of Business Information and performance reporting production in a medium to large organisation.
  • Experience of the analysis of data in the provision of meaningful intelligence
  • Advanced user of Excel with proven capability of handling large, complex data sets.
  • Experience of using a range of analytical techniques, from basic to advanced and understanding of appropriateness of use.
  • Experience of Research techniques such as qualitative and quantitative data collections methods.
  • Understanding of the business imperative behind accurate regulatory reporting and other compliance reporting requirements.
  • Results focused with the ability to take ownership of tasks.
  • Excellent team player who can work flexibly to meet business requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure, deliver to strict deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Customer focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work at all levels within the business.
