Senior Buyer Capex/ Mro - Feltham, United Kingdom - Nomad Foods
Description
Overview:
- Operates within a fastmoving result orientated business and Supply Chain team.
- Part of the Indirects Procurement team within the centralised Nomad Group Procurement function
- Working in group role for category management of Capex & MRO and other Indirects commodities as required, across the Nomad factory estate over €100m annual spend
- The role is European based operating across 19 factories (at present)
- Travel is required to engage with factory stakeholders and understand business requirements at least circa twice per month.
- Supporting the Head of Category and Senior buyers to implement the group operations strategy and support the different stakeholder groups with group contracts
Responsibilities:
- To develop & drive the sourcing strategy of the Nomad Group
- Develop & execute strategic sourcing plans aligned to business needs and objectives
- Manage and develop a network of supplier relationships that deliver value across quality, service, innovation and cost
- Provide and demonstrate high level Procurement and technical category expertise to drive the group sourcing and agenda
- Own & maintain key stakeholder relationships at all levels
- Manages category cost base inline with budget and drives continuous improvement projects.
- Provides financial transparency & forecast accuracy of Total Cost of Ownership
Capex/MRO
- Develop a capex sourcing strategy by understanding the business requirements now and in the future. Ensure it is integrated into the MRO strategy
- Support all Nomad factories with the management of MRO expenditure and services championing the 'One Nomad Way' and process standardisation and simplification
- Driving the supplier consolidation programme in MRO with great pace through challenging contracts and Joint Business Plans with key providers
- Supporting sites to reduce MRO inventories by 20%
- Responsible for setting & executing the strategy on a European business and driving cost optimisation across the Group
- Sharing best practice across the Nomad group
- Ensure adherence to Procurement processes & reporting requirements
- Develops and manages savings and value delivery plans
- Development and management of key suppliers to the Nomad Group
- A capex & MRO sourcing strategy based upon Nomad business requirements and signed off with key stakeholders.
- Ensuring the agreed and signed off group wide buying strategies and policies are deployed and adhered to across all Nomad manufacturing sites
- Ensuring the buying strategies enables flexibility and agility for the Nomad manufacturing footprint to transform over time
- Creates and adapts strategic sourcing plans to deliver business objectives
- Ensure adherence to Procurement processes & reporting requirements
- Develops and manages savings and value delivery plans
- Development and management of key suppliers to the Nomad Group
Decision Making Authority:
- Authorises purchasing contracts up to a spend of € 1m
- Seeks line manager approval for contracts above € 1m
- Negotiates new Supplier terms T&C's in line with Nomad standards
- Makes tender award decisions inline with procurement operating principles
Strategic Ability:
- Demonstrates a clear strategic knowledge of one or more of the operations categories
- Has the ability to influence internally & externally as required
- Understands and interprets/predicts market drivers & trends
- Understands and defines value chains & cost drivers
- Manages Supplier relationship to drive commercial advantage
- Applies strategic approach & defines scope for each category
- Manages available resources to deliver against savings plans
- Assesses strategic options against procurement imperatives
- Drives implementation to deliver substantial benefits ontime & infull
Qualifications:
Essential
- Some (3+ years) understanding of Indirects categories in a manufacturing industry
- Sourcing Strategy Development
- Negotiation skills, tendering and contracting
- Supplier performance management
- Performance measurement and reporting
- Benchmarking skills
- Business and/or engineering degree or equivalent qualifications
- Ideally CIPs qualified or Membership
Relationship Management:
- Has presence and credibility with internal stakeholders
- Has the ability to influence Stakeholders and Vendors at all levels
- Highly developed communication skills
- Builds consensus and clarity around objectives and strategy
- Understands key stakeholder requirements
- Specific MRO experience
- Language skills Italian/German/French
- Fluency in German a significant advantage
- 3+ years in a Procurement function and ideally managing MRO
