    Our Elstree site is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Technician. Baxter is a global pharmaceutical company who manufacture many life saving products but here in Elstree we specifically manufacture bone hemostats which is synthetic bone graft material for Surgeons to use in operating theatres. The site has 36 employees so although a large company, we remain a close-knit team, with some of our employees having been here over 20 years.

    This role is Monday-Friday 7:30 – 4pm and every 1 in 3 Saturdays, 06:00-2pm. We offer an attractive salary of £25,600 and 25 days annual leave + bank holidays. We also have a shutdown between Christmas and new year.

    You will be required to complete manual production tasks and comply with GMP and GDP requirements. Therefore we are keen to see applications from candidates that have worked in this type of environment.

    Role Responsibilities

  • Generate batch documentation as appropriate.
  • Undertake tasks as allocated on the manufacturing plan including basic cleanroom maintenance checks.
  • Complete transactions on computerized ERP system.
  • Inform Senior Manufacturing Technician / Supervisor if allocated tasks are not completed.
  • Carry out other duties as allocated outside of the manufacturing process and use own initiative to find / complete other work.
  • Complete training of basic manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to consistently establish and maintain priorities in order to complete tasks and projects within timelines.
  • Accurate record keeping and good housekeeping.
  • Report any errors or issues to QA and manufacturing leadership team.
  • Ensure own training record is kept up to date and Isotrain modules completed on time.
  • Ensuring the management team and appropriate team members are aware of issue or potential issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to clearly communicate when conveying ideas and information both in writing and verbally
  • Attend and participate in operations department meetings.
  • Work cohesively with other team members to achieve the target outputs.
  • Promote a strong teamwork environment. Shows co-operation within manufacturing and other departments to resolve issues.
  • Participates in quality improvement and process waste elimination efforts by supporting continuous improvement ideas.
  • Experience required

  • GCSE Level Standard or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work as part of a cross functional team
  • Background in manufacturing, ideally in a highly regulated environment
  • Knowledge of SOP's and non conformances would be an advantage but not essential
