As a team member you'll make our customers fish and chip dreams come true, have fun and be recognised for the hero you are.

• Team Members are responsible at all times for the staff they are working with by ensuring each other's safety by following the company's health and safety procedures as laid out in their staff induction. They are mainly responsible for serving customers, maintaining standards of food quality, store cleanliness and front counter organization. Team Members are the main face for the Company therefore must always maintain a high level of quality, service and cleanliness, taking care to ensure total customer satisfaction.

• Assembling orders for takeaway, Click & Collect and Delivery
• Assisting Managers and Fryers to prepare food

There has been a fish and chip shop at these premises since 1968. The original name of the chippie was called Barracuda. Then in 1988 Andreas Ttoffalli took the business over and changed the trading name to Toff's of Muswell Hill.

Mr Ttoffalli won best Fish and Chip Shop in the UK as voted by The Seafish Industry Authority and The British Potato Council in 1989.

In 1999 George and Costas Georgiou took over Toff's and ran it according to Mr T's winning formula, they won the Best British Restaurant in London as voted by the Archant group of newspapers in their Food and Drink Awards.

Furthermore, the two brothers took it to another level, literally, by expanding it to the first floor and adding the Captain's Table.

George sadly passed away in April 2020, however his wife Giga and son Christopher came on board to run Toffs to continue George's legacy.

In 2024, The Chesterford Group; a family run company whose love affair with fish & chips began in 1923 when Harold Lipscombe, a miner, and his wife saved all the money he earned from playing cricket to buy their first ever fish and chip shop in early 1923.

Harold's son John then took the business over in 1952, followed by his son Hugh in 1971.

Hugh is still the company chairman today and along with his son James, the company's CEO they have grown the business to the 39 stores we have today.

With the purchase of Toffs Hugh and son James are looking forward to carrying on their family legacy of passionately exploring ways to deliver even better fish and chips to their customers, as well as cultivating a healthy obsession with cricket
