    The main duty of the post holder is to provide a portering service to the Theatre Department, support patient transfers to and from the wards and to carry out routine ADHOC duties - supporting with department deliveries.

    Liaising with the nurse in charge of theatre department and operational teams.

    Main duties of the job

    To assist at cardiac arrests

    To transport records, X-rays, furniture, equipment and materials

    To report any suspicious incidents and assist where necessary.

    When required, assist with low level security requests

    Job description

    Job responsibilities

    To provide a portering service to all wards & departments. To escort and convey patients by wheelchair, bed or trolley.

    To transfer various specimens or bloods to the pathology department.

    To collect prescriptions and drug books from theatre departments and deliver them to the Pharmacy department.

    To distribute and change medical gas cylinders as requested.

    To assist at cardiac arrests

    To transport records, X-rays, furniture, equipment and materials

    To report any suspicious incidents and assist where necessary.

    Qualification(s) and Professional Training

  • A good standard of education
  • Desirable

  • Basic IT Skills
  • Experience and Knowledge

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability adapt approach to suit the needs of the person/situation.
