Description
An exciting Opportunity has arisen with our client in the Carmarthenshire area. Acorn is supporting this client with the recruitment for a Fleet Reception Controller.

Role responsibilities:

  • Prepare and complete all documentation, relating to the hire reception operation, to ensure computerised and manual systems are updated to provide up to date management information
  • To be responsible for the receipt of monies paid for the provision of transport services ensuring that all income is banked in line with financial regulations and audit requirements
  • Support colleagues in the Fleet Management and Maintenance operations to ensure we achieve high standards of customer care. Continue to maintain a high relationship between our suppliers, clients and end users
  • Create an environment where genuine cooperation and responsiveness to client needs is achieved
  • Arrange for the replacement hire of fleet items from external contractors via call off contracts or adhoc arrangements
  • Ensure compliance with the Authority's Financial Regulations when enlisting services from external contractors
  • Support the Fleet Maintenance and Compliance Manager and colleagues in the vehicle control centre to ensure service delivery is maintained at all times
  • Complete and coordinate the administration and scheduling of workshop appointments, job sheets and inspection reports to ensure compliance with our statutory obligations, liaising with Team Leaders, ensuring vehicle downtime is kept to a minimum


  • Tyre Control

  • Be responsible for the arrangement of replacement tyres to include the placement of orders by use of recognised procedures
  • Process documentation relating to the disposal of assets to ensure the information systems are up to date and all assets are accounted for
  • Assist with the review and risk assessment of all statutory records for maintenance, drivers hours, driver licensing, vehicle loading and Operator Licensing relating to the use of transport to ensure the Council's operations comply with statutory obligations
  • Prepare and complete all documentation relating to the workshop reception operation, to ensure computerised and manual systems are updated with uptodate management information
  • Creation of compliance reports to be run within a timely manner in accordance with the statutory obligations
Applicants will have experience of IT Packages/Microsoft office (in particular Excel), Administrative business support functions, and design.
