    Job Description

    We are currently seeking a PPAP Engineer for a permanent, full-time, on-site based role in Tipton.

    Job Purpose

    • Verification of submitted product for NPI or revalidation.
    • Verification and review of supplier PPAP documentation.
    • Compilation of Level 3 PAPP documentation for submission to customers.
    • To provide effective and efficient assistance to our existing Quality Department.
    • Active contribution as a member of the Quality Team.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Verification of new products received prior to submission to customer.
    • Interpreting drawings and specifications in order to understand acceptance criteria.
    • Competently use inspection equipment such as micrometers, callipers, Keyence IM machines, thread ring and plug gauges, to verify dimensional conformance of products.
    • Reviewing for acceptance of all supplier submitted documentation.
    • Liaising with suppliers and Supplier Quality Engineer where errors, omissions or concerns are found with supplier provided samples or documentation.
    • Compiling and consolidation of all relevant documentation required for a robust PPAP.
    • Submission of validated Level 3 PAPP to customers.
    • Supporting SQE, Technical Assistance and NPI where appropriate.
    • Associated filing and administration tasks.

    Candidate Specification

    • Must be from an engineering background ideally gained within the automotive or engineering fasteners industry.
    • Be competent in the use of general inspection equipment.
    • Knowledge and understanding in the use of CMM.
    • Knowledge and understanding in the Section, prepare, mount, and test samples for hardness conformance (HV0.3, HV10, HV30).
    • To understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
    • Knowledge and understanding 3D CAD models & Software.
    • Demonstrate high attention to detail.
    • Have a good understanding of Automotive tools such as PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Gauge R & R, IMDS and APQP.
    • Must be IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Ensure emails and other correspondence are professional, contain the appropriate information whilst remaining concise.
    • Able to work to targets.
    • Be flexible and adaptable to the demands of the role.
    • Driving license is an advantage.

    Working hours are 730am to 430pm Monday to Thursday, and 730am to 12pm on Fridays.
