Senior Fire Engineer - Job Description


Opportunity for a well experienced Senior Fire Engineer to become a key player in the business being a centre point for technical knowledge and quality control.

Including building and developing a compliance team as a discrete and distinctive part of our national Fire Team.


We are looking for a person with exceptional knowledge, commitment and passion who can effectively provide Fire Consultancy and Fire Strategies across a variety of buildings to our large portfolio of clients nationwide and assisting the management team advising on service offerings and building knowledge across the business.


Responsibilities:


  • Providing and acting as a key Fire Consultant throughout programmes of work for our clients.
  • Creating and reviewing Retrospective Fire Safety Strategies on a variety of buildings
  • Undertaking Comprehensive Fire Risk Assessment on High Risk and High-Rise Buildings.
  • Validating and auditing Fire risk assessments
  • Training and continually developing the team of risk assessors and consultants.
  • Working with the Sales Consultants including attending meetings to provide the technical solutions for our clients and support with closing the deal.
  • Supporting with delivery of our Project Consultancy contracts involved with Façade Projects and other Works Programmes.
  • Carry out the commissioning of fire safety systems prior to building occupation
  • Acting as key fire consultant throughout the different phases of a clients works programme including supporting clients with design consultancy, monthly works inspections, reviewing contractors' documents.
Complete pre and post works inspections ensuring continual Health and Safety Compliance and producing the reports

  • Provide specialist, technical advice, and support in line with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Fire Safety Act 202
  • Role will involve attending sites around the country anticipated minimum of 2 days per week.

Essential requirements:


  • Proven and previous experience in the completion of Fire Risk Assessments on High Rise Buildings, Undertaking retrospective Fire Strategies.
  • Recognisable and professional qualification in fire safety management and fire risk assessments from creditable providers such as the Fire Protection Association, Fire Industry Association and NEBOSH
  • Full, maintained CPD log for fire prevention industry
  • Minimum Technician membership with the Institute of Fire Engineers or the institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM).
  • Recognised 3rd Party Accreditation with the Institute of Fire Engineers Register of Fire Risk Assessors or a similar industry related scheme is desirable
  • Ability to hold an autonomous role with excellent time management
  • High levels of literacy and written communication skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Plan and organise workloads to meet timeframes for service delivery.
  • Preferably exfire brigade experience
